I have good news to report- the much feared Tropical Storm Sonamu had diverted and reduced to a Tropical Depression and will not affect West Malaysia but is on its way to East Malaysia as only a Depression!
News of the Storm had made many people prepare for it as I witnessed huge crowds of the public ‘storming” the supermarkets to stock up supplies. Now many people on my island are well stocked, since they had also done the prep for the Mayan 21st Dec “end of the world” episode. The local word for this behaviour is called “kiasu”.
Anyway it was a big relief for all of us as we braced up for the storm, after seeing what a storm can do as it did in the Philippines recently. It was a good exercise in preparedness. I hope everyone all over Mother Earth are safe and well. OR NI TOR FOR.
